DOE recognizes Energy fficiency Excellence Awardees

TAGUIG CITY - The Department of Energy (DOE), through its Energy Utiliization Management Bureau, today recognized the 15 recipients of the 2021 Energy Efficiency Excellence (EEE) Awards during a virtual ceremony held via doetalks.espactivity.ph.

Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said, “This event motivates our industries in implementing Energy Management Systems to enhance business growth, recognisze and acknowledge best practices on energy efficiency, and promote renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.”

Under Department Order No. DO2021-09-0014 or the Guidelines On Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards, the EEE Awards aims to promote the implementation of energy management systems and best practices on energy efficiency in all designated establishment, including local and government facilities.

Out of 249 entries, 110 entities became finalists after being rigorously evaluated by the EEE Awards' Selection and Validation Committees.

“We still have quite a way to go in our quest to transform energy efficiency and conservation into a “national way of life”. Nevertheless, we have already made concret strides despite the ongoing global health crisis,” Secretary Cusi added.

On its first year, the EEE Awards is in line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 11285 or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, under non-fiscal incentives of establishment that will implement or are implementing energy efficiency projects.
